Did You Know Dozen: Tip #7 VR Services After a Successful Closure

EN ESPANOL

ASL VIDEO

Did you know VR might be able to help you again, even if you are currently working after a successful VR case closure?

VR provides Post-Employment Services (PES) to help people who already have a job.  Sometimes a person’s situation at work changes and they need additional services to maintain their job and continue to be successful.  If this happens, you can reach out to VR and request PES. If you require extensive services, VR may prefer to ask you to reapply for VR services.

For example, Mikhail contacts VR because they are having some anxiety issues that may be affecting their job performance at work and wants some short-term mental health counseling.  VR could provide short term mental health counseling as a PES.  Alisa has faced a substantial change in her physical limitations affecting her ability to maintain her current job. She and the VR counselor determine it will take considerable counseling, assessment, and other services to support the consumer in retaining for other employment.  Alisa reapplies for services.

For more information about PES see VR Policy 6.1. If you have a dispute with VR about a Post-Employment Service, you may call ACDL and do an intake.
