Special Education Tip-of-the-Day, Every Day in August

EN ESPANOL

Summer has flown by, and back-to-school time is here! As this new school year begins, it’s important that students with disabilities and their families understand the special education system and are aware of their right to a free and appropriate public education. The Arizona Center for Disability Law (ACDL) will be sharing one special education tip each day in the month of August on our news page and via social media outlets.

These posts will cover topics such as special education evaluations, accessing student records, resolving disputes with schools, discipline issues, rights for students who are homeschooled or are in private school, transition services, and many more! Each post will provide a basic overview of the issue in parent-friendly language, and will include links to websites and other resources.

Follow along as we break down the complex topic of special education—you can find our posts on our websiteFacebook, and Twitter.
